- Muga Pride of Assam
Muga silk is a variety of wild silk geographically tagged to the state of Assam in India. The silk is known for its extreme durability and has a natural yellowish-golden tint with a shimmering, glossy texture. - Eri Silk
Eri silk, also known as Endi or Errandisilk,Ahimsa silk is one of the most underrated silks.The name “eri” is derived from the Assamese word “era”, which means “castor”, as the silkworm feeds on castor plants.The woolly white silk is often referred to as the fabric of peace when it is processed without killing the silkworm. This process results in a silk called Ahimsa silk. Moths leave the cocoon and then the cocoons are harvested to be spun.The texture of the fabric is coarse, fine, and dense. It is very strong, durable, and elastic. Eri silk is darker and heavier than other silks and blends well with wools and cotton. Due to its thermal properties it is warm in winter and cool in summer.Eri silk has excellent qualities: it is skin friendly, iso-thermal, anti-fungal, bio-degradable and has low environmental impact. It is also a strong, durable fabric. The more it is worn, the softer it gets and is a great textile to be worn all year round.
- Pure Paat Silk
Pat silk or White pat silk, Mulberry silk of Assam is a variety of domestic silk in Assam, It is usually brilliant white or off-white in colour. Its cloth can dry in shadow. The larvae of the Pat Silkworm’s preferred food isnuni (white Mulberry plant: Morus alba) leaves. The silk has a natural white tint and is known for its durability and glossy texture. Pat silk, like other Assam silks, is used in products like mekhelas, chadars and other textiles.
- Kesa Paat Silk
Raw mulberry silk or KesaPaat, as it is colloquially called, is just pure silk fibers without any chemicals or treatments added. The mulberry silk yarn used to weave KesaPaat fabric doesn’t go through the degumming process to prevent breakage during weaving, giving the fabric its unique look and feel.Known for its diaphanous texture, KesaPaat sarees are light weight and has a glossy transparency that sets it apart from other silks in Assam.
- Nuni Paat Silk
Paat silk is a variety of domestic mulberry silk produced in Assam. The larvae that feeds on indigeneousbogori (jujube) plant leaves are called Nuni, hence it is also referred to as NuniPaat. The silk has a natural white/off-white shade and is known for its softness, durability and glossy texture.

Assam toss is a wild silk and is made from silk worms that feed on asan and Arjun plants . The difference of richness lustre and count is what makes Toss Or Assam Tussar silk stand out. It resembles our Muga silk , but is lighter and has a more golden tint to it. Toss silk sarees are now softer and easier to drape, with the new methods of calendaring.
